Antonia Lofaso

Antonia's food is a way to get inside her world. The curiosity in her grew after she left for the Long Island suburbs to explore the vast cultural diversity in Los Angeles. The belief that cavatelli and carnitas can co-exist in harmony on a single menu conveys a sensibility which evolves constantly. But what remains with her food is an unifying vision of the future that longingly remembers the previous. Motivated by her American-born Italian heritage, Lofaso opened Scopa Italian Roots in 2013 which was immediately well received. Lofaso's interpretation of classic Italian food is among the most sought-after restaurants in Los Angeles. Lofaso's food is consistently authentic, inviting and undeniably delicious. Lofaso learned from culinary giants who used sophisticated techniques. She did not fear taking extraordinary risks in order to respect her own instincts. After quickly rising to the top of the ladder, she transformed various Los Angeles high-profile restaurants while being in contact with celebrities. Lofaso, Sal Aurora, and Mario Guddemi partnered to open Black Market Liquor Bar Studio City in the year 2011. She was able to secure an outlet within Black Market as well as her partnerships. The partnership would allow for the freedom of expression Lofaso desired. Black Market is not constrained to a specific direction which is exactly what the idea. This course would begin with dill-flavored potato chips, Shishito peppers, and continue with Korean Wings. Antonia's vibrant flavors are the foundation of these bold combinations. In her long career Lofaso has measured her success with her exceptional ability to comprehend her audience while staying authentic to her personality. Her unforgettable performance on Top Chef Chicago and Top Chef: All Stars celebrated her uniqueness outside of the kitchen. Her talents continue to shine in front of the camera as a Judge on the CNBC's Restaurant Startup and recurring role on the Food Network's Cutthroat Kitchen Man vs. Child as well as ABC's Real O'neals. Lofaso teamed up with Penguin at the end of 2012 in order to launch The Busy Mother's Cookbook 100 recipes to prepare Delicious Home-cooked Meals. The book contains her personal story of the obstacles she faced while attending an institution called the French Culinary Institute and raising her daughter Xea. Lofaso believes that her achievements are the result of her love of cooking and she is able to keep a finger in the middle of this industry by focusing on the kitchen. Chefletics transforms the way chefs dress through the combination of style and functionality. Lofaso's main concern is staying true to her vision. With this in mind she created Antonia Lofaso Catering. This will provide clients with the most personal service.
