
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player, is a striker with San Diego Wave FC (NWSL) and is the captain of the San Diego Wave FC. She was also co-captain for the United States women's soccer team from 2018 to 2020 with Megan Rapinoe as well as Carli Lloyd. Following her graduation early from the University of California, Berkeley, where she played with the California Golden Bears, Morgan was selected as the top pick during the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. She made her debut at the club , and also helped the team win its league championship. Morgan was just 22 at the time was the youngest player of the national team in the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, where the team was runner-up. In the 2012 London Olympics she scored the match-winning goal the 123rd minute of the semi-final against Canada. The 2012 season ended with 21 goals and 28 assists, and Mia Hamm was the only American woman to score 20 and 20 goals. She was the sixth-youngest U.S. player ever to reach 20 goals in one season. After being named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the year, Morgan was also an FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan helped the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was included in the Dream Team in both tournaments. In 2019, Morgan won the Silver Boot.
